Kevin Spacey Acquitted of All Sexual Abuse Charges

“My world exploded,” Spacey testified. “There was a rush to judgment and before the first question was asked or answered, I lost my job, I lost my reputation, I lost everything in a matter of days.”

He was also acquitted last year in L.A. over similar charges. But with that one, an arbitrator ordered him to pay nearly $31 million to the makers of “House of Cards” for violating his contract by sexually harassing crew members. That's a financial death sentence. Over accusations that weren't legally proven.

A whole lot of good came out of #MeToo. But so did a lot of bad. When the court of public opinion takes over lives can be destroyed. I think courts of law need to have that power.

Wow. I always liked him and waited to pass judgment since I didn’t know the facts. Sadly, this cancel culture we live in now caused him great harm over allegations not the whole truth.

@ChampagneOnIce These can be difficult situations to assess, although it didn't seem to take the jury that long. Could be a situation where "not guilty" isn't quite synonymous with "innocent".

@Harmonium1923 Didn't take the jury that long????

Speaking outside the south London court, Spacey thanked the jury, who reached a verdict following 12 hours and 26 minutes of deliberating and after being given a majority direction by the judge.

Almost twelve and a half hours sounds pretty long to me.
