Kevin Spacey Acquitted of All Sexual Abuse Charges

“My world exploded,” Spacey testified. “There was a rush to judgment and before the first question was asked or answered, I lost my job, I lost my reputation, I lost everything in a matter of days.”

He was also acquitted last year in L.A. over similar charges. But with that one, an arbitrator ordered him to pay nearly $31 million to the makers of “House of Cards” for violating his contract by sexually harassing crew members. That's a financial death sentence. Over accusations that weren't legally proven.

A whole lot of good came out of #MeToo. But so did a lot of bad. When the court of public opinion takes over lives can be destroyed. I think courts of law need to have that power.

Yep, sadly, both men and women have been known to make false allegations and destroy lives. I hope Mr.Spacey can get back to some level of normalcy in his life.

@MayorOfCrushtown I feel the same. This struck me as a convergence of faux-morality, celebrity, homosexuality and money. And with the timing it had all the ingredients to take off.
There's countless situations, that we never hear about, of people making false accusations of celebrities or the rich that are settled out of court because it's easier, less expensive and doesn't damage reputations. Happens all the time. You can tell an accuser making false claims that you'll take them to court but if they proceed then the accusations become true in the minds of the public. It's a no-win situation. And it's not right.
