Is it illegal to take down political signs?

I assume that's only when it's clearly purposely put up on someone's property with permission.

In all fairness, Why would you?

@Dino11 because they put them up all over the place and places they don't belong and never got permission to put them there....

Every election I get asked to clean them up for an older person, whom doesn't want any political signs in their yard...

And yet, they always put a good bit up at that location, as it's a good place for cars to see signs.... and the house isn't in sight of the road...
