Trump "spiritual advisor" resigns from church after exposure as a pedophile

Pastor Robert Morris, founder of the Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas (the 9th largest church in the U.S.) resigned after an extramarital affair he had previously confessed to turned out to have been with a 12 year old girl. Cindy Clemishire, the victim, revealed that Morris began sexually abusing her in 1982 when she was 12 years old, and the abuse continued for four years.

As Dan Savage has observed, if clowns sexually abused children as much as priests and pastors do, it would be illegal to take your kids to the circus.

Will Trump select him as a VP to please the base, or just give him a cabinet position--Education or Health and Human Services?
@windinhishair Trump selected Pence to appeal to the Evangelicals. That's not necessary anymore, as Evangelicals support Trump at around 80%, more than they supported George W. Bush, an actual Evangelical. So Trump isn't going to select a religious type. His VP has to be:

Palatable to both the MAGAts and mainstream Republicans
Can't upstage Trump, so no MTG or Matt Gaetz
Someone with experience who will reassure anyone who is worried about Trump croaking
Not a complete unknown, but not too well known, so they can be "introduced" to the public

@LeopoldBloom Good point, though appealing to both the Cult and mainstream Republicans might be mutually exclusive.
@windinhishair Supposedly, the short list consists of Senators J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, and Tim Scott; Reps. Elise Stefanik and Byron Donalds; Gov. Doug Burgum, and Ben Carson. I think Vance, Scott, Donalds, and Burgum could pull it off.

@LeopoldBloom I don’t think it will be Scott due to his skin color. Any of the other 3 could pull it off though. The most important attribute will be a firm commitment to commit any crime Trump commands without question.
@windinhishair Donalds and Carson are also Black. Interesting that it breaks down to 3 Black men, a Latino, a woman, and 2 white guys.
