The Chinese consulate has strongly frowned upon the Half moon bay mass shooting that claimed the life of five Chinese citizens and two others.

The deadly gun rampage was recently the second massacre in California; 18 people have been lost to the incidents.

In a statement released by one of the Chinese Consulate spokesmen, “The Consulate General is in communication with the relevant U.S. authorities to follow up on the progress of the investigation,” and he reaffirmed that the consulate general strongly condemns the heinous act and is ready to work with the government to bring the perpetrator to justice.

Chunli Zhao was presented with 7 counts of murder and a single count of attempted murder by the San Mateo District Attorney's office during his first court appearance, but the court is yet to hear his plea.
He was previously subject to a temporary restraining order after a former coworker and roommate accused him of attacking and threatening him in 2013.
