Pretty sure if all court rulings ended up like this, there'd be less mass shootings

There was no hesitation when they took those lives. Why shouldn't the rulings be any different?

The problem with straight to execution is that they don't actually pay for their crimes. Life, times whatever, without parole or bail would be a better punishment. That way they have to suffer with the prison system and don't get a free out from their crimes.
I'd be more receptive towards the system if they were kept in a dark hole with the minimum sustenance for survival. Not the kind of treatment where they get a warm bed and three meals a day @SW-User

@DrScissorhands You... Clearly don't seem to understand the prison system them. Their beds aren't really warm or comfy. Essentially laying on bricks with a pillow and thin blanket.
The conditions you describe are what they call "The Hole" -- Solitary confinement. It's actually a problem in the system, as those tossed into the hole are beaten, abused, neglected, anything and everything under the sun that the guards can think of. People go insane in there if they're in solitary long enough.
And you clearly don't understand the system in its entirety. I have friends working in federal prison. @SW-User
