Is trump a symptom of a truly broken society?

It's not surprising that trump is using the same tired strategies from his 2016 campaign for 2020 --- spewing hate and division. And he's running against Hillary again, apparently. 🙄 But his base just gobbles it up like starving puppies.

Do trump supporters understand that crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor? So unless you also advocate for ripping babies away from people caught jaywalking or getting a speeding ticket, you are a racist. It's that simple.

There is no humanitarian argument that can be made for the way we’re treating these families, individuals, and children. There's no way to dress it up, repackage it, justify it, or make it right. My heart breaks for them. And what did I do in my lifetime to be treated so well, while these asylum seekers are being held in dehumanizing conditions? Nothing. I appear to be 'white', born in America, and grew up privileged. So yeah, I didn't do a goddamned thing to be treated any differently than asylum seekers. But I know one thing for sure, if I were in the shoes of these immigrants who are running and trying their best for a better life, I'd be doing the same thing. We don't know what they've experienced. Btw, it’s not illegal to apply for asylum. Period. And you gotta cross to do that.

The GOP strategy is fear.
They claim the liberals want open borders. Not true. We want immigration reform.
They claim the liberals want to take away your guns. Not true. We want stricter gun laws. They claim liberals are radical socialists. Not true. What most decent people see as living with concern and care for others; republicans see as socialism.
The list goes on and on.

Conspiracy theorists sent death threats and stalked the families of children murdered in mass shootings and the GOP elected a man who helps spread conspiracy theories. Be proud, GOP.

Our country is in crisis but it's teaching us a lot about ourselves and those we thought we knew. Know that if you oppose trump, his destructive, hateful policies and unlawful actions, you're on the right side of history.

Some people are tribal, and fear those who do not look like them.

I'm sure there are immigrants, Muslims, or people from other religions, but they do not represent the profile of a typical immigrant to the USA. Trump, believes that it's the other way around, when he says 'and some of them are OK'.

This is certainly a dog whistle, but I am convinced this is not just act, and he's a true believer.

I was listening a Trump interview, from a few decades ago, when he was arguing that Indian reservations, should be stripped out of their special status, because casinos on Indian reservations, make it more difficult for his casinos to compete. I suppose, in a way, it's a prelude to his tariffs position now.

His racism was clear, when he took out a full age ad, wanting to impose the death penalty on the Central Park 5. They spent a decade, or more in jail, but it turned out they were innocent.

Don't forget to vote in 2020.
