FBI Director Refuses To Answer Whether Agency Had Sources ‘Dressed As Trump Supporters’ In J6 Riots

FBI Director Christopher Wray refused to answer multiple questions Tuesday from a Republican congressman concerning whether FBI sources were embedded among Jan. 6 protesters during a House Homeland Security Committee hearing on Worldwide Threats to the Homeland.

Republican Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins asked Wray at thehearingif the FBI had “confidential human sources embedded within the Jan. 6 protesters” that day. Wray said he had to “be very careful about when we do and do not and where we have and have not used” such sources, “categorically” denying that bureau sources or employees “instigated or orchestrated Jan. 6.”

The FBI has arrested more than 850 people in connection with the Jan. 6 events, with hundreds pleading guilty to related charges, according toNBC News. Earlier this year, the House Jan. 6 Committee dismissed an “unsupported” claim that the FBI helped to incite the riot, The Washington Postreported.

“Did you have confidential human sources dressed as Trump supporters inside the Capitol on Jan. 6 prior to the doors being opened?” Higgins subsequently questioned. Wray began to repeat that he needed to be “very careful,” but the congressman loudly insisted, “It should be a no! Can you not tell the American people no?”

I'm kind of happy about his refusal to answer tbh.

I wish I could say I'm surprised that Higgins asked it, etc, but I'm really not.

I really do think that the FBI should be able to keep tabs on violent insurrectionists, even when they swear allegiance to Trump and believe in deconstructing the ... (Oh hell... Why not trigger a few folks) global liberal social order and favor returning the world to a pre-civilized state.

Of course you are.
@MistyCee

Maybe you support this then?
@MistyCee

Or do you support this insurrection?

@Budwick She's got choices. Those are just two recent ones.
@TallMtnMedic No, I don't. And I kind of think any FBI undercover sources with ANTIFA or BLM, if any, should be protected as well.

I know government and law enforcement isn't perfect and may even be corrupted, but burning it all down (or literally "defending" it) is not, I think the solution.

@TallMtnMedic Bless you for remembering this incident.
@TallMtnMedic See my last answer to the other choice you gave me, and screw the both sidesism as well as the idea that two wrongs make a right.

While were at it, I'll add that this bullshit us vs them attitude needs to go as well. I don't pay taxes expecting the government to do my bidding over anyone else's, and ive got a problem with anyone who doesn't see that that's a problem.
@MistyCee
And I kind of think any FBI undercover sources with ANTIFA or BLM, if any, should be protected as well" - aka those that swear allegiance to Joe.
@TallMtnMedic Who the heck ever swore allegiance to Biden?
