A 49-Year Old Woman In Edmond, Oklahoma Was Murdered & Thrown Into A Garbage Bin. One of her 3-adopted sons has been arrested for the murder. She was trying to break up a fight between two of her adopted sons and he murdered her. The boys kept fighting and a neighbor heard the fight and the other boy yelled that he had murdered the mother.

I have a family friend who nearly succumbed to the same fate. He and his wife adopted two boys, one of whom later in life attacked him with knives and nearly killed him. That boy was always a troubled child and they did so much to try and help him but some childhood trauma you just can't fix easily. That doesn't excuse responsibility of course.
