When it comes to gun violence, Chicago is a head scratcher. I understand why the nation mourns when a lunatic goes on a shooting rampage at a school. I even understand why some cry out for "common sense gun reform." But the real plague of gun violence exists within America's inner cities. And it occurs in cities with some of strictest gun laws. A fact entirely ingorned by gun control advocates. A simple examination of firearm homicides by state, compared to the relative strength of those gun laws by state shows there is no correlation at all between gun violence and gun laws. An indication that criminals ignore the laws...what a shocker. Chicago's inner city is a collective mass shooting on a daily basis.
Why are so many young males hell bent on killing people in mass?
It's not children. It's not young females. It's not old females. It's not old males.
If all these young men were killing people with automobiles, would we be talking about banning automobiles or requiring stricter background checks to get a drivers license?
What do these young males tend to have in common? What are we possibly doing as a society that may be driving these young males to murder? Why do we seem to miss the clues that these violent men had such crimes in their hearts long before they elevated to active shooter status? Why isn't the media and all the politicians asking this same question?
@dakotaviper The kids in these communities turn to gangs because their domestic situations are horrific. Every 16 years an entire new generation appears destined for gang life. So let’s open the borders so they have product (drugs) to sell in the streets.
