I Am Obsessed With True Crime Stories
When catfishing goes wrong #71: so I listened to a podcast about a true crime story involving an online love triangle that lead to murder.
Meet Thomas, he is your typical 40 year old who likes to go on pogo (yea, that stupid place). He then meets a young teen online named Jessi...Thomas lies and says he is 18 and uses his own picture (from 20 years ago) while Jessi gives him provactive pics, this spurs an online romance. Soon Tom's wife finds out and sends a letter to Jessi, pretty much spilling Toms secret and Jessi ends up e-mailing Tom's 22 year old coworker Brian.
Now, in my opinion it seems like Jessi is playing them both in the world of pogo. She bteaks it off with Tom but then comes bacl while still striking a online relationship with Brian.
Brian tells Jessi he is going to mwet her, Tom gets wind of it..becomes jealous and kills Brian.
So the cops try to meet Jessi...and low and behold it ends up being Jessi's mom behind the online persona. Jessi's mother was using her own daughters pics to entice men online without her daughters knowledge..even going as far as sneaking in pics of her daughter discretely...which is very alarming.
Lets fast forward, Brian is dead..Tom is in prison and Jessi's mom pretty much got off scott free.
