Three federal appeals judges, two of them appointed by Donald Trump, held a rare emergency Sunday hearing on the Justice Department's demand that California set aside the mail ballots of about 20,000 voters it calls likely non-citizens. Asked which outside parties helped build that list, the government's lawyer said he didn't have that information. Asked whether the SAVE database was used, he couldn't say. Judge Mark Bennett questioned whether the appeals court could even hear the case. Judge Gabriel Sanchez pointed out how many people in Los Angeles share his name. And Los Angeles County's lawyer put a number on what the government was asking for.
The government's side is here too: nobody in that courtroom argued that non-citizens may vote, and its lawyer says a vote that shouldn't count can't be pulled back once it's counted. The panel has not ruled. A district court hearing in Los Angeles is set for Tuesday.

1:33 Exhibit A: The three-hour deadline
3:08 Exhibit B: Where the list came from
5:32 Exhibit C: Likely is not proof
7:26 Exhibit D: Who runs elections
9:31 Exhibit E: Can it even be done?

15:17 The record

My comments:
Well at least the government lawyer did not try to fool the court: might give him a few points for honesty, but won’t even begin to make up for those he loses for being completely unprepared to present this case.
This is what happens when the competent & experienced government lawyers have all either quit or been fired and very junior lawyers have to present these sham cases!
