Ok for my stepdad to like check me for ticks?

Hey I'm John I'm 13. Anyways I'm pretty active and outside a lot and when I was little I got ticks on my balls! So I'm like paranoid now and lately my step dad (he's been my step dad like 2 years) has like offered to check me. It's kinda embarrassing but he's nice about it. He sits me up on the desk in front of him and well, you know, checks. It feels like it's been taking longer. But like last time we ended up talking during it about like jerking off lol and yeah, I ended up like showing him I know how. Idk why. Is this weird? Idk could use advice and someone to talk to
