What would you do if your 10yo child told you they were the opposite gender that they were born as?

First conversation when they asked me, no I would not let them start. I’d try to unpack their feelings and support. I’d let them try things with hair, style and clothes, name, pronouns. I’d really want to understand if it was social learning, not fitting in or something else. At ten it can be harder to tell.
