Breaking Dawn written when i found out one of my abusers died

breaking dawn

I lived with the fears
haunted for years
the sound of your voice
the shame of your lies
the joy you recieved
from pitifull cries
the things that you did
to a boy so small
the life that he lived
behind his dark wall
tortured and broken
his self destroyed
his name left unspoken
his life lived in fear
for the day you return
the rage and the anger
continued to burn
a war waged in silence
fought only in his head
on this day in history
they told me your dead
a weight has been lifted
I carried so long
you never dreamed
I would be that strong
I might have desired
to gaze on your face
you didn't die
with dignity or grace
i know you went crying
faced with your crimes
your death i envisioned
hundreds of times
I feel no joy
to know that your dead
only the lifting of
darkness and dread
I'm glad that your gone
into the cold night
in my world today
a little more light
you beat me
you hurt me
you did it for fun
but today you must face it
the little boy won
the world is much brighter
now that your gone
my long night is over
it's just breaking dawn .
