DOJ CAUGHT in Legal TRAP FBI Admits 9 Epstein Redaction Videos EXIST — Still Won't Release Them

The FBI has admitted in a sworn declaration that it holds nine training videos used in the Epstein files redaction project. Total runtime: about 75 minutes. It is withholding all nine in full.

Journalist Allison Gill and her company, MSW Media, sued the Justice Department under the Freedom of Information Act. She filed her request months before the Epstein Files Transparency Act became law in November 2025. The FBI's public filing says two of the videos explain a SharePoint process for flagging documents for supervisory review. Gill's sources claim the flagged names included Donald Trump. The FBI's public descriptions do not confirm that.

The DOJ cites exemptions for internal communications, personal privacy and law-enforcement techniques. Gill's lawyers argue the Epstein Files Transparency Act contains no such exemption for these videos.

The twist: in Katie Phang's separate lawsuit, DOJ argues she should have used FOIA. In Gill's FOIA case, DOJ refuses to release the videos. Gill and her allies argue this puts DOJ in a corner under the futility doctrine.
