A police officer stopped his car and stepped out

This is where it gets so awkward it’s laughable. He turned to face me after backing up his car a little bit and talking to a young woman who was walking her dog on the same street. I was walking up the street back in the same direction as the young woman because I had to turn left to go back to my street a few streets away. The officer got out of his cruiser all concerned and I was confused as to what the issue was. I said hi is something wrong? He said well he passed by and wanted to make sure I was all right because he noticed I was dressed like it was zero degrees outside and it wasn’t timely. I just said well I get easily cold. Today was like 60 degrees maybe 65 for the record, people. He said I mean I’m in short sleeves but I would be in short sleeves even when it’s snowing. I’m a weirdo. I was just in disbelief at what I was hearing. I didn’t know if he said someone called it in or he decided to check things out before someone called it in. Anyway he asked me if I lived around there and I said my street. He said god bless you. You are just taking a walk around I take it? Yeah pretty much I replied. He apologized for startling me and said have a good day. He got back in his cruiser and went up the opposite way and turned right. I saw him cruising down the street I was walking on further down the street before and then eventually back up the street. This was such a weird encounter. Do you think that woman called and felt threatened by me or something? The most I said to her as I was walking by her was she had such a cute dog. Or perhaps the officer thought I was selling drugs or something based on way I was dressed. The officer wasn’t hostile or aggressive or anything, but it did give me pause to have attracted the attention of a police officer. The officer looked to be between mid 30s- lower 40s if I were to guess his age. I really was surprised that my clothing caught attention in that way. Luckily the cop didn’t seem power hungry so there’s that. That could have gone much worse. Sometimes to be honest cops do scare me a bit.
