The SPLC lost its motion to dismiss its case for vindictive prosecution, despite a relentless "media blitz" by Donald Trump, Todd Blanche, Kash Patel and other senior officials rhetorically convicting them long before a trial. Investigative journalist Phil Williams has a theory: Trump is getting a pass because of the "crazy uncle theory" that plays off his attacks on the presumption of innocence as inconsequential blather.
