“Army veteran sues federal government after ICE detains him for three days ” Excerpt From “Army veteran sues federal government after ICE detains him

The Guardian reports that US citizen George Retes was held without access to family, an attorney or information about the charges against him.

I wonder if as an Army veteran if he’s entitled to legal representation by an Area Defense Counselor? I have never heard of that, but these are extraordinary circumstances. It seems his civil rights were clearly violated and there was no due process allowed.

Under the VA there may be free legal assistance.

Read the Institute for Justice case reporting here:

That’s outrageous. I hope he gets paid.
@bijouxbroussard US citizen, Iraqi war veteran, on his way to work, they tear gas him in his car, remove him from his vehicle, detain him first at the farm, then hold him for three days, no charges, not allowed to call his family or his lawyer, misses his daughter’s third birthday…

Every **** one of them should be fired, arrested, and tRUMP, Bondi, Noem, Bovino, the dude that was caught on video taking the $50,000 bribe from the undercover agents—they should all go to prison. @bijouxbroussard

Typical treatment and disrespect of Demented Donnie & his entire misadministration of veterans.
