@JonLosAngeles66 the border is secure now, it wasn't just a few months ago. that's why you have so many illegals in your state and indeed the entire country. arresting and deporting criminals isn't tyranny, it's enforcing the law. interfering with the work of federal agents by burning cars and throwing bricks is not a peaceful protest. restoring order is essential and that's what was done.
@JonLosAngeles66 we have 10 million people here. 10% undocumented. As a group they are traditional nuclear families with generations living in a home. The neighborhoods that are predominantly Hispanic have very little homelessness. They are great neighbors, the food is incredible, they support their neighbors and make this city great. If you don't believe me, I don't care. And we don't bigots here anyway.
@iamthe99 lol. the border is now essentially closed. it had been completely open the previous 4 years (and beyond), dingbat. that's why there are so many illegals in the country now, many of them criminals, who deserve to be deported. even if you're not a 'criminal', entering the country illegally subjects you to deportation.
@boudinMan what does closed mean exactly? 100k people cross the San Ysidro border daily. We have less international tourism but there's still a lot. I'm not sure how that constitutes a closed border.
@boudinMan 4,700 troops were deployed. The LAPD is in control of the situation. What are these troops used for? Mostly to bust doors to assist ICE arrest people. Reports from LA indicate that they're cruising Home Depot parking lots, and tossing day laborers into trucks, or people who may look like day laborers, for deportation.
And that's what people are upset about: the end run around habeas corpus.
You are being lied to. But my guess is you're cool with that.
