do police take any matrial arts training?

As part of their training or individually? I’m Sure some of them have taken it but i doubt it’s a required part of their training.. not that i would know..

It's like saying all military know how to shoot a weapon. They are given the basics, nothing more. Depends on their fields what further training if any.

You don't see detectives ever really fighting.
