Two men convicted of cutting down the iconic Sycamore Gap tree could face 10 years or more in jail! Good!

We will have to wait a couple of months for the sentencing hearing, but I imagine the utter lack so far of any understanding, explanation or remorse by these two cowards, the deliberate approach to their vandalism and their feeble attempts to appear "innocent" by blaming each other, will likely affect whatever penalty is imposed.

It seems we do not actually know which one cut down the tree while the other filmed it; but it was still a joint effort - and a considerable effort for absolutely no point or justification either man has so far managed to put forward in his own defence.
