Punishments are outdated as for ages it has not been serving the purpose as crimes are only getting innovative and on the increase.
So it's all just media hype as nobody remembers the crime or the criminal beyond a point.
It has been forgotten that punishments were introduced to prevent crime so people would deter from crime. But unfortunately it never bothers the one committing the crime for many are committed in an impulse.
The Netflix Adolescence is a good example of how a 13 year old boy justifies his act and shows no remorse or fear of punishment.
What's the use of punishing as however harsh it is, it's only torture and cruelty by the legal system.
Punishments must shift to social media interactions which can deter things getting intense.
