Do you Believe in the Stand your Ground Law?

A stand-your-ground law allows people to use deadly force in self-defense if they reasonably believe it's necessary. These laws are also known as "no duty to retreat" laws.

Lucky for us here in Australia gun culture is nothing like the hair-brained situation in the USA.

Yeah, pat your back for disarming yourself. No government would conceive of abusing it. Especially after the restraint it showed during covid

@Thrust We've never ever needed guns for self-defence here because our culture isn't constructed to be based on fear of religion and weapons. I don't disagree with you in a very minor way, but remember after the Pt Arthur massacre that really put the spotlight on gun culture here. I've never had one, never want one, don't want anything to do with them. We have the right to use 'reasonable force' already. There should *never* be a right to use deadly force opened up to everyone in my view. Deadly force (or threats thereof) is what was used by Trump's supporters during his failed insurrection on Jan 6th of 2021.

Yank the other and MAKE IT GOOD

@Thrust Here we don't constantly live in fear that every other person is potentially carrying a gun, or knife, or some other sort of object considered to be a weapon with an implied right to use it.

No you just bend over...

@Thrust If you fully support the implied right to use deadly force go right ahead - there will hopefully never be a cultural need for every citizen to have access to a gun or similar here.

Having the gun discourages the need to fight tyranny. But if you want it...
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@Thrust Where do you get that sort of blinkered logic from? If you want tyranny, you now have that under the US of TM (United States of Trump Musk).
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Thrust That's working so well for the US just now. Perhaps it will all be put to the test.
