@kodiac NOPE
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@kodiac If Canada saw a rise in knife killings with a special knife that could kill large numbers of people and do so quickly, and was specifically designed for it, with no other use, you can be sure it would be banned quickly.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@kodiac Seriously that was one time. Get over that already. There have been over 500 mass shootings in the US this year alone.
Two mentally unwell brothers went on a rampage. Why did Myles Sanderson use a knife? Because he didn’t have access to a gun because there are restrictions here.

@kodiac Right wing “logic”. The US has over 600 mass shootings in a year. Canada had a knife attack. Therefore, the US should do nothing to prevent 600+ mass shootings annually because it is impossible to prevent them.
TheDisciplinarian · 61-69, M
@windinhishair first off
Canada is a tenth of the usa population
Yes they have far fewer gun issues
Instead..they kill, their own citizens who Struggle to wait for needed meds and or medical proceedures ( in govt authorised and sponsored Suicides)

@TheDisciplinarian That’s not true. I am Canadian and my Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of August and had a mastectomy this last Monday. When you need life saving procedures you get them, you get cancer treatments. Elective procedures have a longer wait period.
To apply and qualify for MAID is a lengthy process and a panel of health professionals have to agree that the person qualifies.
It’s called dying with dignity when you’re terminal.
Far more people are killed by guns in the US.

@TheDisciplinarian We don’t have mass shootings here. We have stricter gun regulations. You can have a gun here but there’s a process to get one.
Those brothers went on a rampage and Myles used a knife because he couldn’t get a gun. There’s always going to be bad people who do bad things but why make it so easy for them to get assault rifles and such to do the bad things?

@TheDisciplinarian I have never waited for meds or medical procedure in Canada
kodiac · 22-25, M
@iamonfire696 Oh wow you act like thats a good thing. So he couldn't get a gun yippee, tell that to the victims families
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@kodiac You could at least offer some insincere thoughts and prayers for the dead.
Imagine how many more people could have been killed by two brothers armed with multiple assault weapons? Are you sad that didn't happen and they were forced to use knives?

@Kodiak Do you see that you’re using one incident of a man using a knife. Again there’s been over 500 mass shootings this year.
It is a good thing, he could have killed many more people with a gun. It was bad enough with a knife. Where is your outrage for all the innocent people dying in mass shootings?
Why doesn’t that bother you? You’re more worried about one incident in Canada and you can’t even concede that our strict gun laws prevented more death in this situation.

@kodiac You are wrong as usual, but then again, we are used to that. The reason I continue to call out the hypocrisy of gun owners like yourself is BECAUSE innocent people die. And it happens over and over and over, and your ilk cannot even admit that it is a problem. You say you deal in facts, but you ignore the biggest fact of all--MORE GUNS RESULT IN MORE GUN DEATHS. And as far as I'm concerned, if you continue to ignore it, you are complicit in the future deaths of innocent people. But that is up to you entirely. You can either be part of the solution, or the problem. And so far, you are the latter.
kodiac · 22-25, M
@iamonfire696 I only need one incident to prove my point .Where is your outrage for the people stabbed???? Why can't you people understand that bat shit crazy people will find a way to kill be it gun knife bomb car truck etc. Also you ignore the 75 mass shootings stopped by armed civilians. 75 gee how many lives saved . Guess they should have just waited for police .where is your outrage over the fact the Maine shooter was let out of mental hospital after his own family begged them to keep him ? Blame the authorities who had tons of advance warnings . Not the instrument he used . Do you believe he wouldn't have done anything if he did have a gun?
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@kodiac so I have over 500 incidents of mass shootings this year alone and that’s not enough proof for you? You’re unbelievable. All you care about is your right to have a gun. You don’t care about all of the people that have died this year because of guns.
If he didn’t have access to a gun he wouldn’t have been able to kill and injure all of those people. Where is your common sense?
You talk about 75 mass shootings stopped by armed civilians but there shouldn’t be the amount of mass shootings there is because people can so easily get a gun in the US.
Imagine feeling safe to go out in public and not have a gun. That’s how I feel when I leave my house in Canada. I don’t need a gun to protect myself from a mass shooting.

Though You're in Canada..
Unfortunately Your Opinions of what happens
Of what laws are or are Not in place

Just as your countries laws and policies and Pratices
Of Suicides are Non of our Concerns
Have a Great day though !!

@TheDisciplinarian Yes I am in Canada where I am not afraid of being shot in public ☺️
kodiac · 22-25, M
@iamonfire696 My common sense tells me he could have used a bomb and there would have been no survivors. No response to the fact that as it happens time and time again people were aware this guy was dangerous? As usual you ignore the stories of responsible gun owners saving who knows how many lives . I didn't realize canada was such a crime free paradise. I don't carry a gun ,no one i know carries a gun ,i'm not the killer gun nut you guys try to paint me as.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@kodiac Don’t you feel badly for all the people that have been killed in mass shootings? Why is it so important to have such easy access to a gun if you don’t have one?
What would be so wrong with having more restrictions in place to help prevent these incidents? You don’t have a gun, why is it so important to you? I am trying to understand this.

@TheDisciplinarian That’s not the case though where there are stricter gun restrictions. Why don’t we have mass shootings here? Or any other first world country with gun control?
You just have to turn on the news and there’s another mass shooting in the US almost everyday. It’s not like that anywhere else. It’s almost like laws do work 🧐, imagine that.
