Mark Meadows says he was “just following Da Boss’ orders!”

By now you have no doubt heard that Meadows is petitioning to have his case moved to Federal Court where he believes he can get the charge(s) against him removed. As Quad Indicted’s Chief Of Staff he was only performing his official duties, right?

Well, Mark, I don’t think that you have a leg to stand on, buddy. Let’s look at what you are charged with:

Meadows was charged with participating on Trump’s call on January 2, 2021, with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, when Quad Indicted asked him to find enough votes to win Georgia. Specifically, Meadows was charged with soliciting Raffensperger to violate his oath of office.

You crossed a legal line when you went from merely being a gutless office boy watching a coup attempt unfolding right before your eyes to actively aiding and abetting such attempt. That was not a lawful activity , buddy. Now sit down and face Justice in Fulton County along with all your other co-conspirators!

The
I was only following orders
thing has never been a defence against a criminal charge, but it does raise the question What do you do when given an illegal order from your President ?
Those working under Nixon might well have had that dilemma. Given what we know now.
Possibly others too.
Who would be able to say I can't do that Mr. President it is illegal. And what are the consequences of refusing to carry out a Presidential order ?
@Picklebobble2 You might be fired, serving at his pleasure, but you can't be charged with violating your oath.

@SomeMichGuy that is likely to be the least of your problems.
What do you say at interview for your next post when asked why you were fired/left such a high profile position ?
Especially if non disclosure agreement was part of your contract ?
@Picklebobble2 This would be well-known, covered by the print and broadcast media.

More importantly, any such NDA would be invalid--you can't have a valid contract for an illegal purpose.
Meadows worked for Springsteen?! That's news to me! ...😉🤣🤣🤣
