Yup, in theory, but I'd rather catch him or her on the way out and not deal with the punishment crap.

@MistyCee With democrats that seems to be the mindset for all crimes. They recently gave a murder suspect cashless bail. I'm sure he will appear for his trial. 🙄
@TexChik give me a break. As a taxpayer, I'd rather not have to pay to prosecute every shoplifter. Is that because I'm a Democrat?

@MistyCee could be. Everyone is due equal protection under the law. That includes shop owners who you expect to bear the losses of your eased conscience.
@TexChik No, what I said was I'd rather the shopkeeper not get ripped off in the first place, as opposed to having to take time off to go testify at a trial over a loaf of bread.
