I am good at numbers but spelling I can mess up a lot of words!

GoFish ·
there's more than a few i can never spell so i have to google them for the correct spelling 😳
@GoFish use wordweb app .
meJess · F
All the U’s that seem to have fallen out of spelling due to American influence.

Oh and it’s spelt programme 😁
I always have trouble with the word APOLIGISE

Thankfully spell check usually catches it: APOLOGIZE
Hasmita · M
@meJess Now I realize 😀
syd03 · 41-45, M
@Threepio Apologise is correct
meJess · F
@syd03 only if it’s actually your fault

@WormMan never eat cake, eat sausage sandwiches and remain young ( one of a few helpers I got at school).
If it helps: big elephants can always understand small elephants (because)

The words with letters of the alphabet in them! 😈

Hello "Miss Spelled"! 🙃

Numbers make so much more sense! 😆
We should all switch to a sexagesimal language! 😈
@DeWayfarer All the best Dude. ;-) :P

Recipe, Receive, Receipt

@meJess Thanks for that neighbour. It was weighing on my mind somewhat that at least eight words break that rule and it didn't seem to be the most efficient way to remember the order. In the end you just have to learn the spellings at your leisure. 🧐 🤣

I don't have any words I can think of that I misspell but one word I often see spelled incorrectly is losing. It is often spelled with two Os instead of one (loosing).
Maintenance
Inconvenience
Received
Consequential
JSul3 · 70-79
Canceled....or Cancelled.

Seen it both ways for decades.

@JSul3
The version with two 'Ls' is the correct version, grammatically speaking.

Keep in mind as well that the English language was not invented by the Brits. It's only been the last few hundred years that the British Monarchy took ownership of the English language and called it their own, but by no means did Great Britain have anything to do with the inception of English into our global society.

American English was created as a trolling 'taunt' ..or slap in the face to King Charles the 3rd, who America's British ancestors were fleeing when they left England 250 years ago on their way to start a new life in North America.

@JSul3

I remember when kidnaped was sometimes used (instead of kidnapped, of course)
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
draught/drought - I always have to check
reggae
acquaintance - okay, I usually don't even try, I google it and copy. 😆
comparison (comparision)
occasionally (occassionally)
liaison (liason) - I don't use this word and have no idea how it's pronounced so it's okay
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@valobasa4ever I'm sure there are more but I don't remember them all. I have one on the tip of my tongue.
@CrazyMusicLover Take your time. 🥂
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35

I often spell Donald as "Bubba" ...and when I purposely try to write Bubba, it comes out as Donald on paper.
@swirlie Wow!
