@UKNaturist true but in French we use it we say “il est rieur” -he is a laugher it’s a playful expression that says he’s gonna laugh at you it’s his personality or mood…
Also laughing seagulls we say “mouette rieuse” -laugher seagull

We have one word for it here that I hate because it sounds infantile to me. Still I guess it describes rather one who laughs often, not someone who laughs right now.
