I speak several languages. The people who get impressed the most and visibily happy when I do it are the Chinese.
They really appreciate it regardless of my mistakes.

There are about 40 Tamazight languages. They're not mutually intelligible and many have different grammatical structures.
When you grown up having to navigate so many languages, it is easy to pick up others. For me, it always starts with speech and communication, later expands to writing. But a lot of Imazighan pick up foreign languages the way they taught them at school. Through writing at the same time as speech.. espacially Arabic.
The other Imazighen Swer I mentioned before..She spoke 15 languages. It is incredibly common.
