No,not at all - accents across the U.S. vary greatly over its many regions,which accent were you thinking that the rest of the world might wind up with?

On the contrary, I think as the world gets more connected English speakers, at least, are getting used to more different accents. And for some reason regional accents are not disappearing. It's an enjoyable sonic world.

It's such fun to converse in our rich English language with someone whose accent is different. It evokes curiosity, and curiosity is the key to a rich life--in any language.

Hollywood movies are watched all over the world and we still have accents. Even in America, there are lots of accents. They don't all speak like Hollywood Californians.
