Actually it's Accent... s! Plural! :-)
The UK has four generic country accents: Northern Irish, Scots, Welsh and English; and within them a very wide range of regional accents and dialects.
Sometimes we find it hard to understand someone with a strong local accent from another part of our own country!
Oh, and to make it more fun, the Welsh, Scots and Irish also have their own country languages, though it's mainly the Welsh who have kept theirs alive and in daily use. They speak English too!
