I Love Accents
I have an Irish accent and I know there's plenty of people out there that love a good Irish accent. I'm an actor and I said to myself that if I were to get really well known, and if I ended up playing an Irish character, I'd want to make sure that any Irish accent I put on, whether its my own, whether it sounds more southern. I want to make sure that those accents sound authentic. There's nothing worse seeing an actor in movies, sometimes American actors playing Irish characters and when they put on the accent, its just like, oh that's a very bad Irish accent. I can detect it, I know what an Irish accent is supposed to sound like which I believe should help American actors then because then they will have a point of reference to go to. Though they could use You Tube as their point of reference, just type in RTE interviews and you'll hear a whole range of Irish accents. Though there's more Irish Actors out there in Hollywood now, Liam Neeson, Pierce Brosnan, Jamie Dornan and Michael Fassbender etc etc. Listen to how they talk is a good point of reference.
Now, I do like putting on other accents, I'm good at an American accent, Russian or Eastern European, British RP, Certain English regional accents (Cockney, Mancunian). German? Helps to know a little bit of German, ja? :) I do like listening to Female English and American accents, when I hear a cute cheerleader voice but she's not actually one of those thick popular girls, I mean she could be popular but she's also freakin' intelligent and knows what she is talking about, that turns me on. Young females with Posher accents turn me on, just think Gemma Simmons from Marvel's Agents of SHIELD or Lara Croft, or even Rachel Weiss in the Mummy movies playing as Evie, she's a librarian to begin with before she learns to kick ass. What accents turn you on? Or get you really going? :)
