I am learning french

I am getting addicted to these short basic videos in french! Idk why they are so entertaining to me lol Maybe I feel good when I watch something in French and understand what's being said. Ah the ego 🥔🥴 Nevertheless, they are so helpful in improving spoken french. I think if I watch them over and over again, i will be able to ace my spoken french part in DELF A2 🥔😚

Trying to recall my schoolboy French I couldn't translate "J'ai eu". Online it says, in English it's "I've had", but in the context "Ive got" would be more appropriate. Can "eu" be used to mean that? Myself I'd have said "J'ai reçu".

@Really J'ai eu means I've had 'literally'. In the context, I believe it means the same thing, if you say I had my visa, or I got my visa.. and it has been translated as I got my visa, which I think is accurate translation in that context.. but I am not an expert, still a beginner.

@BittersweetPotato OK; thanks. Just a different way of interpreting a word. "have had" means "have got" - or "gotten" at this side of the pond 😊. At least I've learned not to say 'Je suis fini'.
