I Want to Learn Many Languages
I think I have a bit of an aptitude in this respect, actually. I lived overseas in Taiwan for about a year and a half, and in that amount of time I learned enough Chinese that people actually say I sound good at it. Of course, the amount of vocabulary one is able to accumulate in that amount of time isn't that great, but my pronunciation is good!
As a P.S. on this, I was recently doing some genealogy research and discovered that a rather remote ancestor (in the g-g-g-grandfather range) was a translator for the Northwest Company in trading with the Ojibwe in Wisconsin, so there is that. 👍🏼
