She married Arthur Miller author and playwright ("Death of a Salesman"), who was Jewish. I hadn't heard about Egypt banning all of her movies.

@DragonFruit i guess they lifted the ban after her divorce so it was only a 5 year ban 🙄 like as if they could stop people from watching things anyway

@GoFish They didn't have internet in those days, and TV was pretty new in the US at that time so they probably didn't have it in Egypt yet. All they had to do was prevent the films from being shown in theaters....so they had much more ability to stop people from watching her films.

@GoFish Probably just because he was Jewish....as I don't think she ever converted to Judaism.

@GoFish I hadn't heard that before, but I looked it up and you are correct. They probably banned her films more for that than simply marrying him without converting.
