I Am Enjoying Being A Muslim

[Quran 40:39]
"O my people, the life of this world is nothing but fleeting enjoyment, but the Hereafter is the Home of Permanence."
[Quran 55:46]
And for one who fears to stand before his Lord, are two Gardens.
[Quran 89:24]
And on that Day, Hell is brought forward. On that Day, man will remember, but how will remembrance avail him? He says: "Ah, would that I had sent before me (some provision) for my [real] life!" [i.e. the afterlife, this verse describes a scene from the Day of Judgment]
When love of this world enters the heart, the fear of the Hereafter exits from it. Tomorrow is never promised to anyone, but standing in front of Allah on the day of judgment is.

Whoever claims to be smart, but does not concentrate on the Hereafter, is lying.

@WindOfAdolf Muslims believe in Muhammad and all of the prophets of God, including Jesus (peace be upon them all). There were eyewitnesses in many occasions when verses of the Quran were revealed. However, there's no, not one, eyewitnesses to the crucifixion nor resurrection of Jesus.

The Islamic belief is totally logical and it's pure monotheistic, while the trinity is originally pagan.

@WindOfAdolf the tone and the venom in your question to me... answers your question...

i was raised a christian...
i then saw through the bullshit... although...if you want to argue greek or aramaic we can...i studied that as part of my undergrad work.

check your tone...we get one pass on this insignificant pebble of a planet...
we are evolutionary outliers...

as for christianity
and the O.T.

all of the stories were borrowed from other cultures...then stitched together...

the stories about jesus(greek) for
joshua were written 40-70 years afterward...

by people with something to gain...you figure that one out..

there is no right path..
christians tortured killed and mutilated in the inquisition...
one life taken in any gods name is wrong.
so, today we have terrorists that use religion to manipulate...
isis doesn't practice islam...
anymore than a guy who blows up an abortion clinic
practices christianity...

enjoy the ride..because we will go back to atoms soon enough...

your happily ever afterlife is a myth, sold to keep you from thinking...and keep you tithing...

may the peace of the lord be with you....

you may now go fuck yourself

@SW-User I understand what you are saying, but I do believe that what is known as Old Testament/Torah is actually the Hebrews' his-story. Religion is man-made, comes from our cultural practices and observations. Our ancestors gained knowledge by observing the world around them, they spoke (oral) these truths, and some written them down. I decided to study the Bible, a book that I hardly read in my life, after experiencing an epiphany. I can honestly say that I accept it (Bible) flaws and all, as the Hebrews' story/explanation of how life began (according to them) and why they suffered so much..

@Madeleine Not everything in the Torah, Bible, and Quran is logical. Because it was not meant for all of us. These are the his-story/culture of Semitic peoples. As a student of Arabic, I struggled with matching up what I was reading to how it was being interpreted by Islamic scholars/Imams and such. The same when I studied the Bible. A lot of things are Cultural observations, practices. There are few wisdom cited from outsiders, but mostly Semitics. Which is why I do not understand why non-Semitic people take these as life or death.
As the Quran states, all nations have been made aware of the Truth. So why do I need to follow a foreign culture to be aware of what my ancestors/elders already taught me?
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@QueenandCrown You asked interesting question, yet I don't fully understand what you mean by the need of following a foreign culture?
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
@Madeleine The followers of the Torah, Bible, Quran in my humble opinion is following the culture of Semitic peoples. All the Prophets/Prophetess mentioned in these texts are from Middle Eastern backgrounds. If you follow Moses, Messiah, and Muhammad (the 3 M's) they are from Palestinian/Arabian cultures. Do you think the Most HIGH, only spoke to Middle Easterners?
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
@Madeleine Actually there were witnesses to 'Jesus' being crucified. But then again who is 'Jesus'. There were many crucifixions, done during that time, so it is probable that a 'Jesus' could been crucified. But my question was and still is, just because a man is crucified, (like so many others) doesnt mean that he is 'god'. Even if he did 'arisen from the grave', there are others mentioned in Hebrews' tales that came 'back to life' after death, some whom allegedly 'Jesus' raised.

@QueenandCrown In Islam, we believe that God sent prophets and messengers to all nations, and each spoke the language of his people. However, every prophet was only meant for his people, except for the prophet Muhammad, he is the seal of prophets and was sent to all people. Now why would God send the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) with the Quran that is an Arabic book? Many scholars attempted to give reasons for that, but only God knows the wisdom behind choosing Arabic to be the language of the Quran. Coming back to your question, I don't think that someone needs to follow the Arabs culture to be Muslim. You probably only need to learn Arabic (the language) but you don't have to transform yourself to act like an Arab.
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
@Madeleine With all due respect, the Quran also states that NO messenger is to be raised above another. They are all to be respected in the same manner. Therefore I do not believe that Muhammad is THE ONE. How can any one man be sent to ALL people if he cant even speak their languages? Even the Messiah's needed other men to engage others in different tongues to spread the message. The reason that laws were given to nations in their own languages was because they needed it. Arabs need the laws in Arabic, Hebrews in Hebrew, Persians in Persian, etc..
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@QueenandCrown True, all prophets should be respected in the same manner. We never view the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to be "the one", but the seal of prophets, because after him shouldn't be another prophet and through his message, God completed His message to mankind. The coming of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a sign of the coming of the hour, the day of judgement. I can see your point regarding the language, but this has never been a problem for people to accept Islam. 85% of Muslims are not Arabs.
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
Does the 'seal of prophets' means that there is no more prophecy, revelations, messengers of Truth? Is is believed that the Most HIGH will not send out those to warn others anymore? 'Seal of Prophets' maybe, but then a Prophet is just man, a human. The Truth surpasses our limitations. The Truth still lives on...
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@QueenandCrown Exactly. God has completed our religion for us. But the fact that there's no more messengers and prophets doesn't mean that guidance from God has stopped.
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
@Madeleine I must bow out not, it was not my intention to 'take-over' your post. Have a Blissful evening.

@QueenandCrown It was a pleasure having this discussion with you.
