Were they Christian? How do you know every one of those "soldiers" believed in Jesus?
Hamas make it very apparent that they believe in their prophet, and the almighty Allah. They shout this when they are murdering people, and sending rockets into Israeli territory. It is heavily featured in their charter, including the updated charter.
Muslims took over the Middle East and North Africa, and many other places. People think that Muhammad's origins in Saudi Arabia gave his followers the right to take the religion to the rest of the Middle East, and change the religious and cultural landscape of this area and surrounding countries. This continues to this day.
It is safe to live in France, but not safe to live in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, and others. Iraq is a beautiful country, but if you go there now, you are at risk of being kidnapped or murdered.
@sascha I see the issue slightly differently. If you view religion -- whether it be Islam or Christianity -- as a constraint on human bestiality, then I would say that Christianity is no more a constraint on bestiality than is Islam.
