The real inhabitants of Hell are those who reject God [I Am Enjoying Being A Muslim]

... they will remain in it forever, and shall never live in it or die.

However, there shall be another group of people who believed in God, the fire of Hell will touch them because of their sins, and they shall die a type of death until they become burnt up, then they will be interceded for, so they will come in groups and they will be thrown into The River Of Life, they will be refreshed, then it will be said, 'O people of Paradise, go ahead and enter it', so they will enter it.

Hell will never touch those who repent from their sins.

@Madeleine - Not at all. We never have to earn God's mercy or love. That is the meaning of grace.

[c=#BF0000]If GRACE depends on our cooperation or performance, by our own works alone, it is no longer grace.[/c]

We are saved only by grace, which is unearned favor from God. It says so in God's Word. God is not a liar.

@LadyGrace If it's "not earned", how come it requires belief?
@Madeleine Because belief is our part in accepting the saving work of Jesus on the cross. Jesus does the saving, not us. Jesus was appointed by God, His Father in heaven, to BE our Mediator between God and man. He only asks that we acknowledge...believe that He came into this world to tell us how we can have eternal life, that He died on the cross to pay for our sins (without the shedding of blood, there is no payment for sin, God said), that when we pray to Jesus to forgive us of our sins, Jesus then goes to His Father on our behalf (why? Because the Father is so Holy, He cannot look upon sin. If we were to bring our sins in with us, it would not BE heaven anymore. Heaven is pure and Holy) so Jesus goes to His Father and tells Him that you (for example only) have come to Him (Jesus) in prayer and have asked that your sins be forgiven. His Father accepts your request for forgiveness BECAUSE of the blood of Jesus that washes away all your sins. God the Father honors Jesus's death on your behalf, only because He accepts the PURE AND HOLY SACRAMENT OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS AS PAYMENT FOR YOUR SINS. There's nothing you did to earn God's free gift of salvation. Gifts are free, for the asking. Then God the Father accepts that you have repented of those sins, on behalf of Jesus's works, and declares you "Not Guilty!" and now your sins have been washed away and you are fit for the Kingdom of God, thanks to Jesus's blood sacrifice, and you are now a new member of God's family and heir of heaven. And all the Angel's in heaven rejoice over your decision, and that another sinner has been saved from eternal seperation from God, in hell. That's was the whole purpose of Jesus dying on the cross. God Himself approved of Jesus to be the Savior of the world. However, Jesus loves us so much, His Father did not have to force Him to pay for our sins. Jesus volunteered. You have now been accepted because of Jesus's free gift and He does not ever go back on His word. You did nothing to earn your salvation, so it is Jesus and His promise to save you, that also KEEPS you in the safety of His everlasting arms and His everlasting promise of eternal life in heaven.

@LadyGrace Thank you for explaining your belief. Now let me explain mine.

I believe that we're born pure. Free from sin. Yes, I believe that Adam sinned, but he repented and God forgave him. Then God sent Adam and Eve to the earth to build a life here and to test us, with testing we're purified.

We were born pure, but we're naturally sinners, this is how God created us. The reason we are here on earth is to work on our souls. How? We sin, then sincerely repent, then God forgives us and wipe out our sin (as if we never sinned at all). We do our best to never commit the same sin again. Even if we failed, then repented, God will forgive us again and again and again. And this is how we're purified and improved as human beings.

We are not responsible for what Adam did, that's why there's no need for sacrifice. Now, even though we "work" to purify our souls, we don't "earn" salvation by work, but by God's mercy. God sent guidance as a mercy from Him to help us get by our life on earth. By obeying God, and believing in Him, we earn his mercy to enter Paradise.

Feel free to ask me about my belief, I will be happy to answer your questions.
