I Am Enjoying Being A Muslim

The Creator is not like His creations. Through gratitude all blessings last. In life, I may not understand why certain things happen, but I believe that the Almighty has the best plan for me, so I don't lose hope. People think that tests only come in the form of hardships. Allah also tests us with ease. It's often in the test of ease we fail most. I thank Allah because I always have more than I think I have.
[big]The night prayer is that power which will make us wonder at how amazingly the supplications are answered by Allah. [/big]

Christianity teaches that -
God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

@Budwick In Islam it is prohibited to have an image of God.

@Madeleine How would the enforcers of the prohibition know?
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Budwick It's also prohibited in Christianity.

@Madeleine Says who?
Who would know what God looks like anyway?
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Budwick The second commandment:
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
@Madeleine This commandment is closely linked with the first, which says, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Having other gods is idolatry. Idol worship was rampant among the nations surrounding Israel. Most of those nations had carved images to which they bowed, sacrificed, and performed various acts of worship. Often that pagan worship involved infanticide and prostitution [sort of like being a democrat these days]

The commandment is about making images of other things (gods) to worship.

And again, no one knows what God looks like, so making an image of Him is all in the imagination.

@Budwick Yes, God is beyond our imagination, that's why it's prohibited to claim that we know His image.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Madeleine I see.
Christians just rely on common sense.
ie - no one has seen him, no one knows what he looks like.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Budwick Muslims rely on Revelation and the teachings of the Prophet.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Madeleine Yeah, I've heard about him.
