I Am Enjoying Being A Muslim

I will never get tired of asking Allah for what I want because Allah never gets tired of giving me what I want. And Allah loves those who ask.

There is nothing wrong in getting closer to Allah during trails. It is wrong to distance ourselves from Allah after He solves them for us. I learned to never underestimate the power of asking for forgiveness. It is a weapon that brings me back to Allah and draws me closer to Him. We must hold on to our prayers. Because If we lose that, we will lose everything else. I seek sweet happiness is in three things: performing prayer, remembering Allah, and reading the Quran. As long as I find delight in those three things, it is alright. But if I ever lost that feeling, it means that the door to Allah’s love and mercy is closed; and then I should start searching for the reason. When everything seems to be against us, we must remember that Allah is with us.

The biggest difference
between Islam and Christianity is the door that you speak of. In Christian teachings the resurrection forever jammed the door open. Jesus died for our sins so all one must do is believe and be symbolically baptized into the faith. There is no animosity between God and humans. That is what is missing. It is a simple, beautiful demonstration of God's love for us. To be forever so afraid of God if you do not pray right or burn the right kind of offerings, eat only certain foods, hate others, or be required to visit a certain place, or read a particular book is not a religion that I would care to practice. Not when there is a so much easier way.

@Tastyfrzz In Islam, nobody enters Paradise without God's mercy. So it's not your deeds that will take you to Paradise. However, your deeds are means to purify your soul, improve you as a human being, and bring you closer to God.

That being said, God doesn't need to shed blood of an innocent man to forgive. God's forgiveness and mercy is unlimited to injustice condition.

Deeds are not required either. That was what caused a rift between Catholics and Protestants in the 1500s.

We're ok if you just bring a hot dish.

@Tastyfrzz What is the purpose of our existence on earth?
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Madeleine Does there have to be one? What purpose is there for the rocks floating between mars and Jupiter? Most pregnancies are not planned. I actually think I was a bit of an accident being born twelve years after my brother.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz Everything has a purpose. Anything without a purpose has no value.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I think this strays a bit from the issue at hand. It's not what God does for you it's what you decide to do for others and how you treat others. That doesn't need God and in fact, if you are really doing it from your heart instead of from fear it means a lot more.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz I do it out of love. And without God we won't be able to do anything. We wouldn't exist in the first place.

If you believe that your existence has no purpose, then you are worthless.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
We create our own purpose. I kind of wrote the book on it. Our creation is a function of God but I think it's a bit different than how you imagine it.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz Why did God created you?
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
There is a fundamental difference in the thought here regarding God and us. We are the same entity. You see, you, Me, and everything around us is just concentrated energy. What that energy truely is is a bit more difficult to describe so I think of it instead as God's love. We, and everything around us are his dream made manifest. As Jesus said, "Everything is possible with God". The reason for that is because we are "living" in the dream of God. Some parts are just better than others.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz So, when you die, you will still be in a "dream".
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Madeleine Possibly. Maybe there are an infinite number of possibilities. The budhists have some thoughts on this. Different colors of light leading to different after life's. White leading you back here.
Without any memory of a previous life it is hard to say if that theory is any more or less true than any other. One probably should just try to make this life as heavenly as possible for those around us.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz This life has a purpose. God revealed it to us, and it's up to us to fulfill this purpose or not. However, this life will never be satisfying unless we fulfill our purpose.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Look under the snowflake on here and go down to story The Raindrop Who Lost It's Cloud. It came to me as I was driving up north to my mom's.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz Our life is basically stages. First stage when our souls were created, then when we were inside our mothers wombs, then when we were born into this world, then when we will die and put inside our graves, and lastly when we will be resurrected on the Judgement Day and face our reality, either happiness in Paradise, or misery in Hellfire.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Madeleine I don't believe in hell or the devil. They were created to scare children.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz Without the existence of Hell, there will be no meaning for Paradise to exist. And there will be no meaning of our existence on earth in the first place.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I think you underestimate God's love.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz In Islam, God doesn't need to shed blood to forgive.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Madeleine I don't think there have been any blood sacrifices in Christianity since Calvary. The sacrament of Holy Communion with bread and wine is simply a ceremony of remembrace as requested by Jesus the night that he was betrayed by Judas.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz Do you believe that Jesus was tortured, crucified, and died for your sins?
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
That's the idea. It preceded Mohammed so you're covered.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz In Islam, God's mercy is greater than any sin.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
As far as I know that's the same. Check out the Kyrie. It's been part of the litergy since the 600s. Lutheran's and Catholics both say it.
