I Am Enjoying Being A Muslim
[Quran 22:36]
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
God shows His mercy to those who are merciful. I learned to have compassion to creatures on earth, so that those in heaven may have mercy upon me. We can judge the hearts of people by their treatment of animals.
"We have subjected them [animals] to you in this way so that you may be thankful."
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"A good deed done to an animal is as meritorious as a good deed done to a human being, while an act of cruelty to an animal is as bad as an act of cruelty to a human being."
"A man felt very thirsty while he was on the way; he came across a well. He went down the well, quenched his thirst and came out. Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. He said to himself, "This dog is suffering from thirst as I did." So, he went down the well again and filled his shoe with water and watered it. God was pleased with him for that deed and forgave him."
