I Am Muslim (sunni)

Someone asked me if a Muslim can be both Shia and Sunni? I personally think It is not possible due to significant differences in beliefs and practices. Would love to hear people's opinion on this

Muslims can be Both Shia and Sunni.

The following is a definition of a Muslim.

1. Believe in ONE GOD ALLAH
2. Believe that Mohammad is his Prophet
3. Well nothing more is required

A muslim can be a sunni or a shia as long as he is following the book of ALLAH and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad(sallal lahu allaihi was sallam)

I think it is like sailing in two boats at the same time, which seems impossible.

No they can't. Shia and Sunni pray differently and there is a difference in terms of belief, albeit small but significant.
