I Am Enjoying Being A Muslim

[big]It's all a test. Everything. All the struggles and heartbreaks, the little ones and the big ones, all the people who come around when they need us, only to leave when they are done. But it's all a test, and we bear with patience.[/big]

When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) says:
“Be patient”
remember this advice comes from one who lost both parents and buried six of his children during his life. Sometimes patience and silence is better than expressing how I really feel.

Desires make slaves out of kings and patience makes kings out of slaves. Through patience, great things are accomplished.

[Quran 2:286]

Respectfully, I do not believe life is a test or that God tests us. Love. I believe God is only love. There is nothing greater.

@Windsylph I appreciate your thoughts. We have different outlooks of life. I believe that God created the world, and the world is not only love. There are hardships and struggles that we go through.

@Madeleine Yes, there are hardships and struggles, but I don't believe they are set before us by God. I see God as a partner, who respects my free will and would never, ever take away my free will by shaping my life one way or another. There is nothing greater than love, and God is the greatest being of all... especially the part of God that lives in each one of us. Peace to you, Madeleine, and thank you for allowing me to comment on your thread. I wish you joy and prosperity.

@Windsylph Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my post. I believe that God gave us free will, and that's why this life is a test. You see, when we take a test in school, for instance, we are only given questions, our free will determines our answers, and based on that, we get the result.

In life, God put us through different situations, and by our free will we deal with those situations, and based on our decisions, we get the outcome.

May joy and prosperity fill your life as well.

@Madeleine God cannot respect our free will and put us through tests. Tests remove free will. On this point we don't agree but I respect your right to believe as you do.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Windsylph It's okay to disagree with mutual respect. The thing is if we didn't have free will, then there will be no test.
Windsylph · F
@Madeleine You view free will as a test. I view free will as a gift.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Windsylph It is a gift, because if we were successful in this life's test, we will be rewarded endlessly in the hereafter.

We agree on free will, but we disagree on the existence of hereafter. The possibility that we have been given free will without a test is open, but in this case, it would be like God put us on this earth and just left us be, and the moment we die, it will all be over, so what was the point?

I believe that God created something amazing which is Paradise, but He only wants people with sound hearts to live in it. God gave us free will, so we earn our place in Paradise, and this is the purpose of our existence on earth. Now our free will has a point.

The test of this life manifests God's love for us. God cares, that's why He sent us guidance, so we will be able to overcome our struggles.
Windsylph · F
@Madeleine God loves all. No test will keep God's love from us. Peace to you, Madeleine.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Windsylph There are murderers on this earth and people who commit all kinds of crimes. God doesn't love corruption and injustice.

Love to you Windsylph. You are such a sweet person.
Windsylph · F
@Madeleine God does not love the deeds, but I believe God loves the person--always. Love to you, Madeleine. I know we don't agree on some of the important points but I appreciate the opportunity to have dialogue with you in a respectful and kind manner.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@Windsylph Likewise. I agree with you on this point though. Yes, God does not love the deed, not the person, that's why He sent us guidelines so will be able to improve ourselves and repent from our bad behaviors. The test of this life is for our actions, not us as people.

For instance, a thief is only a thief when he steals, but once he quits and repents, he's no longer a thief in the sight of God.
