Guilt and insects

There was a time when I had a hide beetle infestation after buying a carpet (brand new). It took a couple months to get rid of them (starting with tossing that carpet). Every time I’d see the larvae crawling around, I’d step on them. The thought would spring to mind that God probably saw them as precious and perfect children. There I was, stomping out their lives like a monster. I felt bad and started sweeping them up to toss outside instead. 😅 I felt much less guilty leaving hornworms for the birds to eat.

I bet the birds were happy!!

My dad once let a cousin who was about to be homeless store their furniture and stuff in his basement…..surprise, they had bedbugs! 😬😬😬 Infested his house HORRIBLY! Aaand guess what, we visited for Christmas and brought them back to OUR house!!! Talk about a NIGHTMARE. I never once felt bad about killing those things. My husband would never agree to an exterminator and I was literally hardcore cleaning every. single. day. Actually pulling EVERYTHING out of each room, cleaning every crack and crevice…inside and out of furniture, washing all fabrics, even cleaning outlets!! After almost a year I still occasionally check the furniture in the middle of the night afraid I’ll find some. Thank God we’ve been good for a while now!

Btw, if anyone reads this and is struggling- Crossfire works amazing combined with dedicated cleaning/vacuuming
@whisperingwillow Oh no. What a nightmare. 😱
Parasites are different. They must have been created specifically to plague everyone and everything. 😣

@Colonelmustardseed I definitely agree! They have absolutely no purpose in life but to be menaces lol

I used to do that with Ants when I was a kid. I am bit mad at Lizards and Frogs but I hush them if and when I see.
@TheOrionbeltseeker She’d be the large one with scars on her back from where the wings used to be. But I don’t exactly find her. She eventually dies when the workers can’t bring food to her (because I kept mopping them up). Without her, they all stop working and die.
@TheOrionbeltseeker I like ants. They’re fascinating. I just can’t stand them in the house.

@Colonelmustardseed I like the way your brain functions. Maybe it's normal for people. But I have never thought about it that way.

Time to gear up for me.
