I swear internet videos are the worst!

In the break room, there's a guy literally watching short video after short video with no discernment or even awareness, it seemed. He went from one video with a robotic voice talking about a high school student who brought a pipe to a game and violently hurt others to a music video. Literally one right after the other.

This type of consumption of videos is horrible! There's no conscious thoughts of whether that video was worth watching, or even true. Just another one on the algorithmic cycle.

Good god. It's no wonder we are where we are. There are no brain cells firing at all.

I've started clicking in the video sidebar to get YouTube to stop recommending most aviation channels to me now, for example, because I don't want to have to spend time trying to sort out which ones are real and which ones are AI and/or misinformation and ChatGPT-generated scripts narrated by an AI), after already seeing one embellish the facts of recent flight of three MiG's through Estonian airspace (and included a goof of saying F-35 pilots could effectively see down through their cockpit floor to look at MiG's above them .... presumably that was a ChatGPT snafu .... I assume also the intent for this channel is to always produce clips over 15 minutes to somehow enhance monetization).

And I've installed a browser extension to hide all YouTube "shorts", god I hate them.

And if I had a dime for every fake AI-generated YouTube video or short I've stumbled across proclaiming that Citroen is introducing a new retro / futuristic concept or production car inspired by the original Citroen DS, I'd be rich (one of the AI slop videos couldn't even keep the left and right sides of the new car design the same).

YouTube is rapidly turning to shit for everything but actual music videos you remember from the past (as any new music could just be more AI slop)

And I've NEVER EVER treated YouTube as a NEWS source, hell I don't even want to watch leftie pundit shows anymore (I've lost count of how many I used to peruse, from the Young Turks, the Majority Report with Sam Seder, et al.)

WTF is going on and when will it stop and reverse course?!?!?!
