I Tried Online Dating

What do you think of online dating?
Does it really work? Anyone with a great experience? I tried but am beginning to think it's not really for something serious馃槓

I tried online dating and it didn't work for me. I'm not an ugly guy (quite the contrary) but the only interested women were the desperate ones who probably haven't had sex in years. The ones I was interested in and whom I tried to prod, either rudely responded or just plain didn't react.

The only successful love stories in my life thanks to online communication grew naturally and progressively, just like how most couples end up being together. With the first girl I just flirted and we had sex the first day and with the second girl I had a meaningful relationship of a couple of months, but I had also developed the relationship into existence by gradually showing her I was interested in her.

With the way people nowadays think (they want quick results), I am not very hopeful for the online dating people out there. For example, on apps like Tinder there are tons of sex-hungry people.. However, there are enough success stories but they seem to be the exceptions..

If you want better success, you should try the paying sites, since they offer quality and authenticity from the members (no a fake profile, real birth date, real picture and what not). I would think the chances are at least better than the free dating sites.

There was this writer who was bound to find out what was really going on in these websites and he wrote a comprehensive article about it, describing his 4-month experience with online dating sites:

In it, he talks about his fake accounts with a very hot guy, a very hot woman, a very ugly guy and a very ugly girl. It's quite revealing to read.

In summary:
- try the paid sites that have the best reviews
- if you choose the free ones, be original if you like (since this is generally attractive)
