Yeah, we didn't waste nearly as much time on all this nonsense. Hell, back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the earth we used to get a lot more things done.

I dunno about that. It was just a different kind of time wasting. There were comic books, tv, magazines, and all kinds of pop culture bullshit to distract the masses.
People weren't built to be [b]on[/b] 100% of the time. Look at Hunter gatherers who basically work part time to feed/shelter themselves and their families. Some cultures like the Americans in the USA work twice as long with fewer breaks and less exercise. We have more conveniences and safety from disease and the elements but vulnerability to mental illness, less nutrition in our higher calorie food, and more insecurity in our social groups. Life hasn't gotten any easier really, it's just changed.
