I Remember Life Before the Internet

How many people remember the struggles of experiencing this
TeresaRudolph71
Oh, yeah! I remember when I didn't have internet access at home, so I would go to the library to apply for jobs online. But just when I was almost finished filling out the online application, an annoying popup would show up and block my view of everything on the page. And when I clicked on the "x" to get rid of it, I would get kicked off the page. Then it would take me about 10 minutes to find that webpage again and I would have to start all over, because all the information that I had entered had been lost. After this happened several times, I almost gave up. But then I started remembering everything that I had entered and started going faster and faster, until I could get it filled out in time, before getting kicked off the webpage again. In the end, after several hours of this, I finally got one job application filled out. That was maddening. I haven't used the internet at the library in a long time because of this experience (though I still like to check out books there). Remembering this makes me really thankful that I now have a good internet connection at home. :)

I suppose that the experience that I just described was a little bit different from the one that you just showed us, but in a way it's similar. Is there anything more frustrating than a poor internet connection?

I know how you feel. At home we had a dial up connection and could only use the Internet when the phone was not in use lol. Took ages to log in!

I suppose it was cheaper, but hardly worth the hassle.

That was fun the first two times it happened. After that, I wanted to smash the computer.
