I'm reminded of when Jerry Brown was our Governor -- the first time, at the peak of his Zen days -- arguing that people who do the crappy jobs, like garbage collecting, deserved to be paid higher and those who had jobs that were rewarding mentally and psychically probably shouldn't be paid as much.

But that was in the days when the garbage men actually rode on the tail gate of the trucks and picked up the cans and emptied them, rather than being a truck driver who pushes a lever for a mechanical claw to do it.

Regardless, I agree with both of you. Why I slip a $20 bill to people bussing tables in a busy restaurant, not counting on the servers to share their tip money.
